Wait Until Tomorrow

by Protocol

/

about

This is her first fault. She's thinking about how she keeps putting off work- the boring, the challenging, the uncomfortable, difficult conversations, she just keeps thinking she’ll wait until tomorrow. Days have passed, months have gone by, years have changed, but there are some things that she never gets started on.

She's doing well in her life professionally and personally but she's only doing the bare minimum, just getting by. She's not expanding her horizons by facing or attempting challenges.

Everyone else is pushing themselves hard but she just doesn't have the will. She's at the brink of desperation, but she avoids these thoughts because she doesn't want to trouble herself at all. Instead she turns her attention to her phone, another distraction, to seek some comfort from the misery of the position she is in.

She waits until the worst is over. Well aware of it. And then, simply goes back into her state of daydreaming and procrastination. Her tomorrow never comes.

lyrics

Waste away another night
Everything I had to do I can do tomorrow

Awake in a dream-like state with eyes open
This mess has slowly become part of me

I'll wait right here
Watching all these walls closing in
Knowing, too well, my scars are open and bleeding out

Distort reason to the end of your twisted desire
Seeking all that's left to be stripped of misery

Awake in a dream-like state with eyes open
This mess has slowly become part of me

I'll wait right here
Watching all these walls closing in
Knowing, too well, my scars are open and bleeding out

Wasting away, wasting away
